How to Schedule LinkedIn Posts in 2026 (Profile and Page)
September 29, 2026 · 4 min read · By Wavnil
Key takeaways
- From your profile, write a post, click the clock icon in the lower-right corner of the editor, and pick a time between 10 minutes and 3 months ahead.
- On a company Page, super admins and content admins can schedule posts from 1 hour to 3 months ahead, and see posts scheduled by other admins.
- LinkedIn can't schedule events, jobs or services posts, and Pages can't schedule multi-photo posts, polls or reshares.
- A scheduling tool helps when you manage several profiles and Pages, or want LinkedIn on the same calendar as your other networks.
To schedule a LinkedIn post, click Start a post, write your post and add your media, then click the clock icon in the lower-right corner of the editor, choose a date and time up to three months ahead, and confirm. It works from a personal profile and from a company Page, on desktop and on mobile, at no cost.
LinkedIn's scheduler is simple, but it has a few rules worth knowing: different lead times for profiles and Pages, post types it won't schedule, and a separate list where scheduled posts wait. This guide covers them all, checked in LinkedIn's Help Center on September 29, 2026.

- Click Start a post at the top of your LinkedIn homepage.
- Write your post and add images, a video or a document.
- Click the clock icon in the lower-right corner of the editor.
- Choose a date and time between 10 minutes and 3 months from now, from the menus or by typing the exact time.

How to schedule a post on a LinkedIn Page
Super admins and content admins of a Page can schedule posts, and newsletter articles, from one hour to three months ahead. Switch to your Page's admin view, start a post from there, and use the same clock icon.
On a Page, the scheduled list is shared: admins can see, edit, reschedule and delete posts scheduled by other admins, and publish one immediately with Post now. One catch for advertisers: you can't promote a scheduled post with the Browse existing content option in Campaign Manager until it's published.
How to view, edit or delete scheduled LinkedIn posts
- Click the clock icon in the post editor, then View all scheduled posts (View all on mobile).
- Click the More icon on a post, then Modify schedule to change the time, or Edit post to change the content.
- To cancel a post, click the Delete icon next to it and confirm.
What LinkedIn can't schedule
- From a profile: events, jobs and services posts.
- From a Page: events, jobs and services posts, plus polls, posts with multiple photos and reshares.
If you add one of these elements, LinkedIn shows an error saying scheduling isn't supported for that post.
When a scheduling tool makes more sense
LinkedIn's scheduler is enough for one profile. A tool becomes worth it when you:
- Manage several profiles and Pages, such as your own profile, your company Page and client Pages.
- Plan more than three months ahead, or build a campaign in one sitting.
- Publish on other networks and want LinkedIn on the same calendar as X, Instagram or YouTube.
- Want fixed time slots that each new post fills automatically.
In Wavnil, connect your LinkedIn profile or Page once, then write your post (up to 3,000 characters, with company mentions), add images, a video or a PDF document, or let Wavnil turn two or more images into a swipeable document carousel. Pick a date or one of your time slots, and optionally add an automatic repost or follow-up comment for when the post takes off.
Before you schedule
- Check the length: 3,000 characters, with the hook in the first lines. Our bold text generator helps emphasize a few words, and the character counter keeps you under the limit.
- Check your visuals: image, video and PDF specs are in our LinkedIn post size guide, and your profile banner in the LinkedIn banner size guide.
- Pick the time: our guide to the best time to post on LinkedIn shows the slots Sprout Social's and Buffer's data both support.
The short version
Start a post, clock icon, date and time, confirm: 10 minutes to 3 months ahead from a profile, 1 hour to 3 months from a Page. Edit or reschedule from View all scheduled posts. To manage several accounts and networks from one calendar, try Wavnil free for 7 days.

Frequently asked questions
Can you schedule LinkedIn posts for free?
Yes. LinkedIn's built-in scheduler is free for personal profiles and company Pages: write your post, click the clock icon and choose a date and time up to three months ahead. You only need a scheduling tool if you want to manage several accounts or networks from one calendar.
How far in advance can you schedule a LinkedIn post?
Up to three months. From a personal profile, the time must be between 10 minutes and 3 months from now; from a company Page, between 1 hour and 3 months. Tools like Wavnil keep your post and publish it at the chosen time, so they aren't bound by that window.
Can you edit a scheduled LinkedIn post?
Yes. Click the clock icon in the post editor, select View all scheduled posts, then use the More icon on a post to choose Edit post or Modify schedule. You can delete it from the same list. On a Page, admins can also edit posts scheduled by other admins.
Can you schedule a LinkedIn poll or event?
Not natively. LinkedIn doesn't support scheduling events, jobs or services posts from a profile, and on Pages it also excludes polls, multi-photo posts and reshares. If you add one of these, LinkedIn shows an error saying scheduling isn't supported for that post.
