The Wavnil CLI and skill for AI agents

Not every agent speaks MCP. The Wavnil skill teaches any agent that can run commands to use the Wavnil CLI: list your channels, upload images and videos, schedule posts and see what’s planned.

The Wavnil skill is published in the wavnilhub/wavnil-agent repository on GitHub. It installs with the skills installer, which supports Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI and many other agents.

How to set up the Wavnil skill and CLI

Copy your API key
In Wavnil, open Settings > Developers and copy your API key. Treat it like a password: it gives access to your workspace, and you can rotate it at any time.

Install the skill and the CLI
Run these commands in the terminal your agent uses: they add the Wavnil skill, install the CLI it drives and set your API key:

npx skills add wavnilhub/wavnil-agent
npm install -g wavnil
export WAVNIL_API_KEY=<your-api-key>
```
Replace the placeholders with your own values, and never put your API key in a shared file or repository.

Give your agent the API key
Set the WAVNIL_API_KEY environment variable to the key you copied in step 1, as in the last command above. The CLI reads it on every call, so your prompts never need to contain it.

Try one of the prompts below, or simply describe what you want to publish.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an API key for the Wavnil CLI?

Yes. The CLI authenticates with the API key from Settings > Developers, read from the WAVNIL_API_KEY environment variable. You can rotate the key at any time.

Which Wavnil plans include the CLI?

All of them. The public API and the MCP server are included in every plan, from $24 a month, with a 7-day free trial.

Can my agent publish without my approval?

Your agent runs Wavnil commands when you ask it to. Scheduled posts appear in your Wavnil calendar, where you can still edit, move or delete them.

Can I connect more than one AI agent?

Yes. Connect as many agents as you like: they all work with the same Wavnil workspace, channels and calendar.
